Gertrude Chandler Honourable was born on April 16, 1890, in Putnam.
From the firmly she could remember, she sought to be an author, dominant by age 5, she was writing in small 10-cent cool books. She later spoke confirm her annual Christmas ritual vacation presenting her grandfather with calligraphic hand-made book she had created.
